RIP iphone o’mine

I just HAD to run my big mouth, didn’t I? Until today, I have been the proud owner of an iphone 3gs. I purchased it when the iphone 4 came out because it was significantly cheaper. Since I’ve had it, all I’ve heard from my iphone owning friends is, “You should upgrade to an iphone 4”. Umm, no. I purposely bought the older model because it was cheaper and worked just as well. And I was right. It did, in fact, work just as well. Internet, email, phone, texting, facebook… the possibilities were endless! My reply to those who suggested that I upgrade was always, “I only buy new phones when my old ones crap out”. Well folks, that day has arrived. My precious iphone has taken a dive. It no longer charges and the one and only button on the entire phone (except for the power button) has stopped working. I was just discussing last night with some friends about how I’ll keep this phone forever because it appears to be indestructible. After all, I drop it all the time and it’s still kicking. Well, the kicking has officially stopped. I feel like I jinxed myself! So today I’ll be heading to the mall on my lunch break to purchase a new phone. I wonder if I’ll get the same phone or if I’ll upgrade. I do know one thing. I will NOT be getting the iphone 5. Not until the 6 comes out! Ha! I hate getting new phones, but it is somewhat comforting to me to know that most iphones work very similarly. At least I won’t have to learn how to use yet another type of phone. Wish me luck on my phone shopping adventure. Have a wonderful weekend. See you next week! πŸ™‚

Let’s discuss

Happy Friday! A day late and a dollar short, I know, but just be glad that I remembered to blog at all because I’m getting really forgetful in my old age! πŸ™‚ Let’s discuss my beloved blanket for a minute. You know, the one that you see me crocheting on the show. It’s finally almost finished! I’ve been working on it diligently because I want to finish it on our next show. Wait till you see how massive it is. I think I could easily cover all five of us with it, but I won’t because you have no idea how hot it is under that thing! The bigger it gets, the hotter I become, especially under the studio lights. While I’m quietly crocheting away, you are all blissfully unaware that I am sweating my brains out under that blanket. MUST FINISH SOON before I melt on air!

Let’s discuss something else… Christmas. I don’t celebrate it. At all. Ever. It’s not because of religious reasons or because I just plain hate it, although I must confess that I do kinda hate it (it’s so “in your face”). The closest I’ve ever come to “celebrating” was stage managing the Belsnickel Scrooge show at Genesius a few years in a row. Beyond that, there’s no Christmas or any holiday in my life. Sad, right? That said, we’re starting to toss around ideas for our upcoming holiday show and needless to say, I’m stumped. What are some holiday-type things that you would like to see on our show? I welcome any and all suggestions. If you have any ideas, feel free to either comment here or send me an email or FB message. And just so you know, I flat out REFUSE to dress as any Christmas character! Ha!!

Have a great weekend everyone! I look forward to hearing your thoughts! πŸ™‚

Hooray for Autumn!

Happy Friday all! I know I’m hijacking Kira’s day (sorry Kira), but I didn’t want you to think I forgot about you yesterday.

Ok, I confess. I forgot about you yesterday. Whoops! I can’t help it! This wonderful fall weather (minus the rain) has got me in a tizzy! All I can think of is colored leaves, pumpkin flavored everything and apple cider. And HAYRIDES!! I love those! Someone better take me on a hayride this year! I also can’t wait to carve my third annual pumpkin and make “bacon” seeds. So many fun and exciting things to do around this time of year. To get myself into the holiday swing, I recently saw two scary movies, Possessed and The House at the end of the Street. Both movies were excellent and seriously creepy. If you’re into scary stuff, check them out. You won’t be disappointed. I love this season!

Time for me to get back to work now. I’m so looking forward to going home so I can burn something pumpkin scented. Hurry up 6pm! See you next week! πŸ™‚

Gotta love glass!

Happy Thursday! I hope everyone is having a good week so far. I’m so looking forward to the long weekend. Hooray for holidays! In case you haven’t heard yet, last Saturday the TWSS ladies and I went to a fantastic glass studio in Boyertown. I was instantly smitten! I love glass art, and if you do too, then this is the place for you. So many beautiful pieces and all very different! Although we didn’t get to do any actual glass blowing, we got to learn all about the process and how the different pieces are made. It was mind blowing! I have to admit, though, it was a little terrifying to walk through the store. I was so afraid of bumping into something and breaking it! Everything is so pretty, so fragile… and SO EXPENSIVE!!! Ha! Well worth it though, because Will Dexter is truly an amazing and talented artist. You won’t find glass art like this anywhere! I seriously can’t say enough about this place. It’s magical! And the best part?? We filmed everything, so our lucky viewers will get to see the entire excursion on our next show! I desperately want to go back for glass blowing classes or even just to visit and see all the gorgeous work again. I think Jane and I will be making a visit there in the near future, perhaps when she recovers from her swine flu (poor Jane!). Stay tuned!

I hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday weekend! See you next Thursday! πŸ™‚

I’m back!!

Happy Thursday everyone! It’s been a while! I’m so glad to be back after some password difficulties. Hopefully no one has forgotten about me by now!

It’s been such a frustrating month thus far. I know we’re only a little over two weeks into August, but time is dragging for me. My drivers license is suspended for the entire month of August. Slightly inconvenient, to say the least, but it has been nice to be chauffeured everywhere. Just call me Miss Daisy! Hey September… please hurry up and get here. I have so many places to go!

I’m ÜBER excited about next Saturday. The TWSS ladies get to do something that I’ve always wanted to do and what’s even more exciting is that YOU will get to watch it on our next show because we’re filming it! Woot! I’m so psyched!

Time for me to get back to work. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! See you next week! πŸ™‚

Oh my eyes!

Hi Peeps! Forgive me for not blogging yesterday, but today is the first time all week that I’ve been able to tolerate looking at a computer or phone screen or just about anything with light. Let me explain. I have two corneal abrasions, one in each eye, which have rendered me pretty much useless all week. You never realize how much you rely on your eyes until you can’t use them anymore! After stumbling around blindly for almost a week, I’ve learned a big lesson. When your contact lenses bother you, TAKE THEM OUT!!! Your eyes will thank you for it!

It’s been a pretty slow week since I’ve been laid up for most of it. Not much new to report. Miss Saigon is over. Work is still going well. Life in general is going well. Not a lot of excitement going on right now, but no complaints either. I guess I can’t ask for much more than that, can I? I am, however, very much looking forward to our next show coming up this week with our new addition Kira! I’m also looking forward to our breakfast meeting tomorrow morning. Always a blast when we get together!

Sorry to make this so short, but my eyes are telling me to stop now. I hope everyone has a splendid weekend! Don’t forget to watch us on Wednesday night at 9pm!!!

I should be thinking about the show, but…

Drat! I’ve done it again! I forgot to blog again! I’m so bad about that. I’m trying to do better, I promise! This week has been insane. I’ve been at Genesius all week, working on a production of Miss Saigon. If you haven’t yet seen this show, shame on you! It’s a must see! It is seriously one of the best shows I’ve ever worked on. I’m beyond proud of all my friends who are working on it, whether onstage, in the orchestra or the tech booth. It is truly something to behold! Go see it!

Tonight is our cast party. I rarely go to parties, but I’m feeling social tonight. It helps that the party is near my house. I’m so looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. This week has been the longest in a long time!

I ran into one of my guard girls last night outside of the theatre. It made me miss all of my girls! I’m so excited to start rehearsals. It won’t be quite the same because three of them have graduated, but I still have the other three. I can’t wait to be back with my guard!

Time to get back to the show. Ciao! πŸ™‚

When one door closes, others open

Happy Saturday everyone! I know it’s not Thursday, but I wasn’t inspired to write then and I am now, so here I go!

This week has been full of upheaval for me. All good things, fortunately! I’ve quit a terrible job, landed myself a much better one, had a Tupperware party, rearranged my entire apartment and watched three of my color guard girls graduate from high school. What a crazy and emotional week, but a good one. I’m looking forward to starting my new job. I’ll be working with my old boss from my last job, so that eases most of my new job jitters, but it’s going to be so strange to be back in the world of the working!

Yesterday I accompanied my newly engaged friends Andy and Megan to pick up their new puppy. WHAT WAS I THINKING?! I’m terrified of dogs, and when we got there, there were dozens of dogs everywhere. It was seriously my worst nightmare. Somehow I made it through that and through the ride home, but it was definitely nerve wracking to have a pouncy puppy sitting behind me, trying to be my friend. Someday we’ll be friends. Just not today!

I accomplished a lot this week, so I’m taking today for myself. I’m enjoying a quiet lazy day at home and I couldn’t be happier. Too often life is insane. It’s important to wind down and to take time out and reflect. So that’s exactly what I’m gonna do! Have a wonderful weekend! πŸ™‚

Rainy morning writings

Good morning all! Let me begin by wishing my lovely friend/co-star Christina a very happy birthday! Although her birthday was actually yesterday, we’ll be going out to celebrate tonight. Our little Christina is growing up so fast! Ha! πŸ™‚

I’ve been MIA for a little while. For that I apologize. Life truly has been crazy, with job hunting and the end of my indoor guard season and just life in general. Not trying to make excuses, but it is what it is. However, now that my job hunt is over, I should be able to get myself on a regular schedule, including my blogging! Hooray!

Yes, you heard correctly. I found a job! I don’t want to say too much about it, but it seems like a good fit for me and I am very excited and can’t wait to start.

It’s a rainy gross day out there. The perfect kind of day for snuggling in bed with a good book and a cute kitty. So don’t mind if I do! Have a great holiday weekend everyone. Be safe. See you next week! πŸ™‚

Just a quick note

Hey hey everyone! I know it’s not Thursday and I know I haven’t written in a while. Life got seriously insane for a while! I’m in Wildwood right now with my color guard and percussion line. We were competing to make finals, but alas, we didn’t make it. I’m still super proud of my little ladies because even though they didn’t make it, their last performance was amazing and they went out with a bang! I’m such a proud momma right now! But now I have to cut this short because we’re about to leave for our awards ceremony. Next Thursday, I promise there will be a nice long blog for your viewing pleasure! Ciao! πŸ™‚
